Exercising, losing weight, quit smoking, saving money, studying Spanish... Are you still doing these resolutions over and over again without achieving your goals? Follow this "formula" and reach your life goals.
Generally, at the beginning of each year we make promises and resolutions with the intention of achieving new goals, changing attitudes or unwanted habits, starting new projects or trying to avoid making the same mistakes.
However, many people fail in the attempt, not because they aren’t willing to meet the acquired purposes, but because they do not know the effective way to achieve them. Many writers and motivational speakers agree that there are certain keys for effectiveness in achieving any goal we set. Here you will find some successful strategies on how to achieve goals you set for yourself:
1. Set clear goals
The first big step to success is to set clear and concrete goals. Decide exactly what you want to achieve in every area of your life.
Brian Tracy, one of the three most important motivational speakers in the world, said that the establishment of any new goal begins with idealization. Imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do. For example, imagine that you can wave a magic wand and make your life perfect in each of the three key areas of life. If your life were perfect, how would the following areas of your life be?
Your income. How much do you want to make this year, next year, and five years from now?
Your family. What kind of family do you want to have and what lifestyle do you want to create?
Your health. How would you like your health, your food and your physical condition to be?
2. Write your goals down
The second major step to meet your goals is to write them down. Only 3 percent of the people write their objectives and goals. So very few people manage to achieve them. Many people are dispersed and waste their time trying to do many things without a clear idea of where to direct their efforts. Therefore goals must be in writing and be clear, specific, detailed and measurable.
3. Set a deadline
The third step is to set a deadline to reach those goals. This is an unconscious way to head towards achieving your goals on schedule. If you set a goal, but never a deadline to reach it, you can spend your whole life in the attempt and fail.
4. Visualize your life goals
The fourth step lies in visualizing your life goals. Create crisp and clear images of your goals as if they were true. See your goal as if you had already achieved it; imagine yourself enjoying the realization of that goal. For example, if it is a car, imagine yourself driving that car. If it is a holiday, visualize yourself enjoying an afternoon at the beach. If it is a beautiful home you want, imagine yourself living in it. It has been shown that a mental image, combined with the emotion that it creates, has a huge impact on the subconscious. Visualization is perhaps the most powerful weapon at your disposal to help you reach your goals faster. Thanks to visualization, your unconscious mind activates the Law of Attraction, which says that you attract into your life the people, circumstances, ideas and resources that help you achieve your goals.
5. Take action
In the next step you need to take action. Writing goals and visualization is not enough to achieve your goals; it is necessary to move from theory to practice. The problem with many people is they get lost in visualization, detailed planning or fearful projections and stay at the level of passivity, waiting permanently the best time to act.
6. Develop self-discipline
Develop the habit of self-discipline. Once you've decided to achieve your goals, focus one hundred percent in each of your tasks until you get what you want. Self-discipline involves being able to pay a price to achieve the goals you want. It also means selecting your most important task and then working on it decisively without deviations and distractions until the task is done.
How about this guide to achieve life goals? The implementation of these ideas will help, no doubt, that this year is also the beginning of a new and successful life for you.
